IRVING, Texas -- Wide receiver Roy Williams was limited in Wednesday’s practice with a groin injury.

Williams suffered the injury during Wednesday's practice and was receiving treatment after the session. He has missed only game since joining the Cowboys and that came last year at Kansas City because of a rib injury. With Jesse Holley not practicing with a knee injury, the wide out crew was thin with Miles Austin, Sam Hurd and Manny Johnson the only healthy receivers on the 53-man roster.

** Marion Barber (calf) took part in a limited part of Wednesday’s practice. It was his first work since straining his left calf on Thanksgiving against New Orleans. It did not sound as if interim coach Jason Garrett was ready to commit to Barber to Sunday’s game vs. Washington.

“He’s been making progress,” Garrett said. “There’s clearly a difference between that kind of progress and being able to play in a ballgame. It’s important for him to be able to go out there and start to practice and see if he is able to start moving toward playing in a game.”

** Linebacker Keith Brooking was in shoulder pads but did not practice because of his sprained left foot. Linebacker Bradie James (knee), linebacker Sean Lee (shoulder), cornerback Terence Newman (sick) and Tony Romo (collarbone) also did not practice.
