Sam Hurd ruled out vs. Eagles

IRVING, Texas -- Wide receiver Sam Hurd has been ruled out for Sunday's season finale in Philadelphia.

Hurd suffered a concussion in last week's loss to the Cardinals and has not practiced since then. That might have been his last game as a Cowboy.

Hurd, who has been one of the Cowboys' top special teams players since arriving as an undrafted rookie in 2006, will be an unrestricted free agent. He's likely to look for that can offer him a larger role in the offense.

Hurd had 14 catches for 120 yards this season and 45 catches for 630 yards and two touchdowns in his career.

Quarterback Jon Kitna (oblique) is listed as questionable. The Cowboys are likely to promote Chris Greisen from the practice squad to serve as Stephen McGee's backup if Kitna can't play.

With Hurd ruled out, he can be moved to injured reserve to make room for Greisen on the 53-man roster.
