DALLAS -- Rob Ryan’s first move as defensive coordinator was to bring Matt Eberflus in as Cowboys linebackers coach after they worked together for two seasons in Cleveland.

Eberflus was the Browns linebackers coach from 2008-09 after serving as an assistant at Missouri from 2001-08, spending the last three years as defensive coordinator. He replaces Reggie Herring, who rejoined Wade Phillips in Houston as the Texans' linebackers coach.

Jason Garrett still has openings at wide receiver and defensive line on his staff. He interviewed Dan Campbell and Bruce Matthews for an assistant offensive line coach position but they chose to remain in Miami and Houston, respectively, and it is not clear if they will add that position.
