The Dallas Cowboys are in the process of hiring Brian Baker as their defensive line coach multiple sources said Tuesday.

Baker coached the last two seasons with the Carolina Panthers, but he was let go with the rest of the staff after head coach John Fox wasn't given a new contract after the 2010 season.

But Baker signed a contract to coach at North Carolina. The Cowboys came in recently and offered Baker a deal to coach in the NFL and Baker wanted to wait until after national signing day before finalizing any deal.

The Cowboys have yet to fill the entire staff. They need to hire a wide receivers coach and there could be plans to hire another coach.
