Cowboys will welcome Burress back to NFL

SAN ANTONIO -- The last time the Cowboys saw Plaxico Burress in a regular season game he caught three passes for 34 yards in the New York Giant’s 35-14 win. The next time the Cowboys see Burress in a regular-season game will be Sept. 11 at the New York Jets now that he’s signed there.

Burress received a one-year offer from the Jets after his two-year hiatus from the NFL because of a prison term.

It is difficult to know what kind of impact Burress will have for the Jets, but he has had some decent games against the Cowboys.

In the 2007 season opener, he had eight catches for 144 yards and three touchdowns, but the Cowboys won 45-35. In seven regular season games against the Cowboys with the Giants he had 32 catches for 441 yards and five touchdowns.
