ARLINGTON, Texas -- The preseason opener was getting sleepy -- or making us that way -- but Stephen McGee opened things up in the third quarter.
Cowboys score a touchdown: Stephen McGee completed a six-yard touchdown pass to undrafted rookie wideout Raymond Radway for the Cowboys' first touchdown of the preseason. It capped a nice drive by the Cowboys in which McGee connected on two strong passes to Dwayne Harris, hitting the rookie on a 26-yard pass where he beat two defenders and then on a 10-yard slant. The big one was to Radway, who grabbed attention early in training camp with his speed and ability to catch the ball. But he struggled at times, including a drop during the Blue-White scrimmage. This time, he held on to the ball for the score.
Run game is slow:It looks as if the run game is not getting going with Felix Jones off the field. Lonyae Miller, running on the second team with Tashard Choice out, struggled. He didn't appear to have the same burst as he did in training camp.
Injuries: Safety Danny McCray will not return after suffering a left arm injury. He was injured toward the end of the first half. His long-term status hasn't been determined. He's a key special teams guy, and the Cowboys will need him going forward.
