ARLINGTON, Texas -- Defensive end Jason Hatcher expects to play Sunday despite a strained toe that sidelined him for Friday's controlled scrimmage against the Chargers.
"I'm just taking precautions by sitting out today," Hatcher said. "I didn't want to aggravate it. I should be ready to go Sunday."
Hatcher, who re-signed with the Cowboys for $6 million over three seasons, was the defensive star of the preseason opener. Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan described Hatcher as "a one-man wrecking crew."
Hatcher suffered the injury on his left big toe during Thursday's practice against the Chargers. He did light conditioning drills without a limp Friday.
