Injury report: Mike Jenkins out vs. Vikings
The Cowboys hope that running backs Tashard Choice and DeMarco Murray and inside linebacker Keith Brooking will make the preseason debuts Saturday, but a decision has not yet been made.
Jenkins, who suffered a stinger midway through the team’s stay in San Antonio, returned to competitive drills the last two days. However, he has not been cleared for full contact yet. The team does not anticipate any issues with Jenkins’ availability for the Sept. 11 season opener, and it’s possible that he could play in the Sept. 1 preseason finale.
Brooking (hamstring), Choice (calf) and Murray (hamstring) practiced this week after missing all or most of training camp. They will be further evaluated Friday before a decision is made on their availability against the Vikings, but they are preparing as if they will play.
Offensive guard Montrae Holland, who has been sidelined a few weeks with a sore back, is expected to return to practice in a limited capacity next week.
