Mike Jenkins says he's ready for Jets

IRVING, Texas -- Mike Jenkins does not see a reason why he will not be able to play in the season opener Sunday at the New York Jets.

Jenkins missed the four preseason games after suffering a stinger on Aug. 1 and was not cleared for contact although he did return to practice two weeks ago.

Missing the game action does not concern him too much.

“I’m getting it right now going against my players, Miles, Dez,” Jenkins said. “That’s enough for me.”

In addition to studying Santonio Holmes and Plaxico Burress , Jenkins said he will focus on his stamina during the week.

“I just think conditioning-wise I want to go hard every play and don’t take no pays off and push myself to the limit to make sure I’m mentally and physically ready for Sunday night,” Jenkins said.
