Marcus Spears, Phil Costa back to work
Spears (groin) and Costa (knee) returned to practice on Wednesday, however, it is not known if they will take part in a full or limited session. Newman (groin) and Bennett (ankle) continued their rehab.
Costa suffered a sprained posterior cruciate ligament during training camp and missed the last two preseason games. He was given a 2-4 week recovery time after the injury. Spears, who is now wearing No. 98, would move to right defensive end if he is able to start against the Jets.
Wide receiver Laurent Robinson was at practice and will wear No. 81. Isaiah Greenhouse, who was signed to the practice squad, is wearing No. 52 and will play linebacker. He opened training camp at linebacker before being switched to fullback.
