IRVING -- Cowboys starting rookie left guard Bill Nagy didn't practice Thursday because of a neck injury. Nagy said he's feeling better and hopeful he'll play in Sunday's Week 2 game at the San Francisco 49ers.

If Nagy misses the game, the Cowboys expect Derrick Dockery to get the start at guard Sunday.

Wide receiver Dez Bryant (left thigh) didn't practice, but indicated he'd like to practice Friday. Cornerbacks Terence Newman (groin) and Orlando Scandrick (ankle) did not practice and have been ruled out for Sunday.

However, the other corner, Mike Jenkins (shoulder) was limited in practice Thursday and said, "I'm taking it one injury at a time."

Outside linebacker Anthony Spencer (shoulder) was limited in practice. Tight end Martellus Bennett (ankle) and wide receiver Miles Austin (knee) were full participants.
Calvin Watkins joined ESPNDallas.com in September 2009. He's covered the Cowboys since 2006 and also has covered colleges, boxing and high school sports.
