IRVING, Texas – Derrick Dockery is expected to start at left guard Sunday in San Francisco.

Bill Nagy is listed as doubtful with a neck injury.

Those two facts are not directly related. Nagy injured his neck during Monday’s practice. Dockery started working with the starting offensive line during pre-practice work. The change appears to be a personnel decision, not a medical one.

Nagy, a seventh-round pick out of Wisconsin, beat out out-of-shape veteran Montrae Holland and fourth-round pick David Arkin for the starting job during training camp. But the 6-foot-3, 303-pound Nagy struggled with the Jets’ big, physical defensive linemen during the season opener, when the Cowboys averaged only 2.5 yards per carry in a loss to the Jets.

The 6-foot-6, 325-pound Dockery, who was signed a one-year deal when the Cowboys cut Holland after the preseason, gives Dallas a bigger, more experienced presence at left guard. The nine-year veteran has 111 career starts and might make 15 more this season.
