Injury update: Sean Lee unsure if he'll play
IRVING -- The Cowboys have serious injuries to starting inside linebacker Sean Lee and starting cornerback Mike Jenkins.
Lee has a dislocated left wrist and said he's not sure if he'll play Sunday vs. the Seattle Seahawks. Lee hurt the wrist trying to tackle Michael Vick in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Lee will try to play with a cast and noted he doesn't need surgery at this time saying it's, "not an option". If he underwent surgery his season could be over.
Jenkins suffered a right hamstring injury in the third quarter and played through it until he had to leave in the fourth. Jenkins said he could miss three to four weeks because of the injury.
Punter Mat McBriar has nerve damage in his left (non-kicking) foot which prevents him from planting when attempting kicks. He re-injured the foot during the Eagles game and the Cowboys turned to Dan Bailey to take over the punting duties in the second half.
The long term replacement for McBriar is Chris Jones, who was signed to the practice squad last Friday as a precaution.
If Lee can't play vs. Seattle, expect Bradie James and Keith Brooking to resume their starting roles together for the first time since last season. Lee had taken over the starting spot of Brooking. James also saw limited snaps because he was sharing them with Brooking.
The Cowboys would also need to get rookie Bruce Carter ready to play more on defense Sunday with Lee out or limited with the injury. Carter has a limited knowledge of the defensive package and would have to be given more this week in practice. The Cowboys also have Orie Lemon on the practice squad, who can also move up to the active roster.
With Jenkins out, Orlando Scandrick returns to a starting role alongside Terence Newman. Scandrick started the first two games of the season when Newman was out with a groin injury.
