Bruce Carter: 'I think I did OK'

ARLINGTON, Texas -- With Sean Lee out because of a dislocated left wrist, rookie linebacker Bruce Carter saw the first defensive snaps of his career in Rob Ryan’s sub packages.

Carter was not credited with any tackles but did have a pass breakup. Safety Barry Church handled some of the inside linebacker duties in passing situations as well. Carter has practiced only nine times since coming off the Physically Unable to Perform list, where he started the year because of a knee injury suffered at North Carolina.

“I wasn’t really nervous, but getting in on defense, it’s a lot faster,” Carter said. “I think as I keep playing, it’ll slow down for me.”

Lee could return next week vs. Buffalo, but Carter has at least a special teams role.

“I think I did OK, but I could’ve done better,” Carter said. “I had opportunities where I could’ve made plays, but it’s going to come.
