ARLINGTON, Texas -- Dez Bryant is one of those athletes former wide receivers coach Ray Sherman called "a freak."
That word came up again after Bryant made a fantastic catch on a Tony Romo pass in the first quarter of the Cowboys' victory over Buffalo on Sunday.
Romo saw one-on-one coverage and threw a jump ball to the end zone. Bryant jumped over Bills corner Leodis McKelvin at the goal line to bring in the 34-yard touchdown.
Said Laurent Robinson of the touchdown: "Dez is a one of a kind freak athlete. Some of the catches he makes in practice are unreal. He made one [today] in the end zone. We are all trying to help each other and learn from each other at the same time."
Bryant finished with with a season-high six catches for 74 yards and the touchdown. Bryant has had five games with at least 70 receiving yards.
But the touchdown was all anybody wanted to talk about.
"I got my head up a little late," Bryant said. "I saw the ball and I had to attack it and that’s what I did. Tony put it up in the air for me and I just came down with it and made a play."
