LANDOVER, Md. -- For the first time since the end of the 2009 season, the Dallas Cowboys have won three consecutive games and they find themselves in position by the end of the night to be in first place in the NFC East thanks to their 27-24 overtime win against the Washington Redskins.
“It’s important,” quarterback Tony Romo said. “We needed to get going. Stacking these wins together is what good teams do this time of year. You need to put yourself in position. It was a big win today. It has been a big win these past three games. It’s going to keep getting bigger every game. Miami is playing great football, so it’s going to be a tough game on Thursday. Right when we get back [home], we have to get to work.”
While it was not a thing of beauty, the Cowboys are not apologizing for the win, although the constant talk from the locker room after the game was the need to improve.
“Wins aren’t easy to get in this league,” cornerback Orlando Scandrick said. “It feels good to be 6-4 coming off a team that won only six games last year.”
