Five Star: Will the Eagles Hit Their Average of six Plays of 20 Yards or More on Saturday?

As much as I wanted to believe that Rob Ryan and this Cowboys defense can slow Michael Vick and this Eagles offense down, I do not believe that they will be able to keep this group from getting big plays.

You are dealing with too many explosive players for the Eagles, and the way those players are used makes them difficult to control. It all starts with Vick and his ability to run with the ball and make plays when you cover receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. Now throw in the weapon of tight end Brent Celek and the way he is able to work down the field and even attack defensive backs.

But the biggest weapon on this offense is running back LeSean McCoy. He can beat you so many different ways. The Eagles like to use him on the stretch play, getting the ball around the corner. They also like to run the sprint draw with him. But where he can hurt you the most is in the screen package, where he can get the ball one on one in space.

Rob Ryan’s defense will have its hands full this weekend but so will Juan Castillo’s group. This will be a game of big plays.
