Three defensive starters miss practice

IRVING, Texas -- While Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was throwing some light passes on Wednesday, there were three missing defensive starters at practice.

Pro Bowl nose tackle Jay Ratliff, outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware and inside linebacker Sean Lee did not attend practice.

Ware (stinger) and Ratliff (ribs) were limited last week with injuries and with them not being on the field today isn't a surprise. Lee (hamstring) suffered his injury during the Philadelphia Eagles game last Sunday. Lee said after the Eagles game he expects to play vs. the New York Giants Sunday night.

Also, safety Danny McCray (ankle) did not practice, but he planned to do some running and maybe return to a session on Thursday.

Nose tackle Josh Brent (knee) returned to practice for the first time in about a month.
