Multiple sources told Todd Archer the Indianapolis Colts asked the Cowboys for permission to speak with Tom Ciskowski, the assistant director of player personnel, about its vacant general manager's position.

Update: According to a source, Ciskowski will speak with Indianapolis Colts officials Saturday and Sunday.

Ciskowski is a valued member of the Cowboys front office.

You only hear about Jerry Jones, the owner/general manager and Stephen Jones, executive vice president/director of player personnel, but Ciskowski is the man in charge of putting together the draft board and making sure the Jones family has all the information necessary regarding potential draft picks.

Jerry Jones has been criticized for not listening to his personnel people over the coaches when it comes to draft picks. Sometimes the lines are blurred regarding whom Jones should listen to more.

Ciskowski, however, is always prepared to give the Jones family what's necessary to make an informed selection.

If the Cowboys lose Ciskowski, expect the Cowboys to go internal to replace him.
