NFC East quarterback club getting better

IRVING, Texas -- If you look at the NFC East, you have to be impressed with three of the four quarterbacks in the division. There's Dallas' Tony Romo, Philadelphia's Michael Vick and of course two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning of the New York Giants.

Washington is missing.

Last year, the Redskins used Rex Grossman and John Beck at quarterback.

But now with the Redskins moving up to the No. 2 spot in the draft, there's an expectation that Baylor's Robert Griffin III will be taken.

It should make for an interesting quarterback foursome.

"I think what you find is the division is hard," Romo said. "Throwing another good quarterback in is just going to make it tougher. If you can survive your division and come out on top, it gives you a great opportunity to be successful. It shows over and over again, the teams that come out of our division can beat anybody. They really can. I think it’s going to be that much tougher. If you’re able to come out, no matter what you’re record is, you’ve done a hell of a job. That’s what we’re trying to do is take each step to get there."

What's interesting is the Giants won the Super Bowl last year with a 9-7 record and were the only playoff team from the NFC with a sub-.500 record in conference at 5-7. The Giants were also 3-3 in the division.

"I think every year, it’s funny how the NFC East in some ways, throughout most of the season the talk always is, 'Well, they’re not as good any more and blah, blah, blah,'" Romo said. "And everybody beats everybody up and everybody goes 10-6 or 9-7 and whoever gets in has a shot at winning the Super Bowl or gets to the NFC title game."
