“It was real hard,” Wilber said of missing the bulk of the offseason. “It was a mishap that happened to my finger, but I’ve got to take advantage of the opportunity I’m given now.”
Three days might not be able to make up for missing 12 practices, but it’s better than nothing and Wilber said the finger is fine and he is not wearing a splint.
“Coach told us all the rookies, everybody out here that we’re all behind, that all the veterans, they’re ahead of the game,” Wilber said. “They know what they’re doing. They have game time experience, but it’s going to help us progress and create friendly competition in training camp and make everybody better and get ready for the season.”
