IRVING, Texas – Linebacker Alex Albright was one of the bigger surprises in training camp last year when he made the team as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College.

He saw limited time as an outside linebacker but had 14 special teams tackles while playing in all 16 games.

He knows his spot is not guaranteed in 2012, so he is more than willing to play some inside linebacker.

“In this league, the more you can do,” Albright said. “I’m grateful to get the opportunity to at least try me out at some places just in case. I’m picking it up quick. Dan Connor's helping me out a lot. Sean Lee's helped out a lot. I’m looking forward to it.”

Last year he made the conversion from college defensive end to outside linebacker

“I’m kind of getting used to bouncing around now,” Albright said. “It’s a little different when you’re not hitting somebody then reading. You’re reading then getting hit. It’s a little backwards, but I’m picking it up and they’re giving me the reps to make sure I get it right.”

Albright missed the offseason recovering from shoulder surgery, but he will be full go when the team begins practicing in Oxnard, Calif., on Monday.

“No pain, no problems,” Albright said. “That’s kind of the reason they held me out, just to make sure everything was good. And it is.”
