OXNARD, Calif. -- Morris Claiborne was able to break in to the grind of training camp for three days at Valley Ranch last Wednesday-Friday. The Cowboys’ first-round pick will see a faster pace today in the first full-squad practice of training camp.

Claiborne’s introduction to the Cowboys was delayed because left wrist surgery knocked him out of the rookie minicamp, organized team activities and the June minicamp.

The team will try to speed up his acclimation during training camp by giving him plenty of work. Seeing receivers such as Dez Bryant or Miles Austin should help after going against mostly unknowns for three days at Valley Ranch.

Secondary coach Jerome Henderson worked a ton with Claiborne on an individual basis in Irving, teaching him the proper technique and fundamentals of the position.

The big question is whether Claiborne lines up with the No. 1 defense in today’s practice.

Jason Garrett does not believe in handing players jobs, so look for Brandon Carr and Orlando Scandrick to take the No. 1 cornerback reps in the base packages at least early in camp.
