Tony Romo goes 1-for-2 in 2-minute drill

OXNARD, Calif. -- Tony Romo enjoys working the two-minute offense more than just about anything in a practice.

His first drive in Sunday’s session ended with an interception by Brandon Carr after just two plays with the Cowboys down 22-20 and a little less than two minutes to play.

“Brandon’s good,” Romo said. “He had an interception on one of the routes where he got inside on a coverage and he shouldn’t. That’s a great and terrible sign at the same time but since he was able to make it, I’m excited if he can do things like that. That helps us a lot.”

In the next two-minute situation, the Cowboys were down 25-20 with less than a minute to play and Romo ended the drive with a scramble from a yard out for a touchdown, just getting under DeMarcus Ware. On the drive, Romo was only three of eight but converted a fourth-down pass to Andre Holmes. He opened the drive with a perfect long throw on a wheel route to DeMarco Murray, who slipped past Sean Lee.

“We script a lot of stuff so this was good to see because no one knows what’s coming from either side,” Romo said. “It’s good to battle.”
