Play of the day: Brandon Carr's pick
Carr picked off Tony Romo during a two-minute drill Sunday, blanketing Dez Bryant on a crossing route and battling to get inside the receiver before coming up with the ball.
“He got inside on a coverage that he really shouldn’t. That’s a great and terrible sign at the same time,” said Romo, who floated to his left and threw across his body. “So I’m excited about that. If he can get there and do things like that, that’s going to help us a lot.”
Bryant has dominated every cornerback in camp with one exception: Carr. The Cowboys’ $50 million man has been consistently outstanding, but this was his most impressive play yet.
“I had to go make a play to get off the field,” Carr said. “I want to go out there and compete and at the same time make plays and be smart.”
