OXNARD, Calif. -- The Dallas Cowboys are without two interior offensive linemen, Kevin Kowalski and Bill Nagy, because of injuries. Kowalski has a bruise near his ankle and Nagy has a high-ankle sprain on the same leg he fractured last year.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said he doesn't believe either player will return this training camp and their long-term status is in question.

"I will say, I am concerned about those two," Jones said. "I don't think they'll be available to start the year more than likely."

Kowalski was supposed to compete for the center job with Phil Costa but his injury has almost eliminated that possibility. Nagy, a seventh-round pick last year, started four games in his rookie year before suffering a fractured ankle at New England.

Nagy was hurt early in training camp, opening the door for David Arkin, Ronald Leary and Harland Gunn to receive some snaps with the first-and-second teams.

"Leary is doing a nice job for a guy to come in here from a position change, a left tackle in college (to guard)," Jones said. "Very impressed with him. Done a really nice job. Him and Arkin are getting a lot of reps."

Injuries to guards Nate Livings and Mackenzy Bernadeau also put the Cowboys in a bind and forced them to sign Derrick Dockery and Daniel Loper this week to play guard.
