Cowboys-Chargers blacked out in Southern California

OXNARD, Calif. -- Not sure the last time this happened in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, but Saturday night's Dallas Cowboys-San Diego Chargers game will be blacked out in Southern California.

The league has a policy requiring all NFL games not sold out 72 hours before kickoff to be blacked out in the local television market.

According to the NFL, this includes all television signals within a 75-mile radius of the stadium and those areas with a television signal within the 75-mile zone.

Chargers officials said nearly 5,600 general tickets remain for the game at Qualcomm Stadium. Normally the Cowboys draw a good portion of their fans to away games, especially in San Diego.

Of course, the game will be telecast in the Dallas/Fort Worth area without restrictions.
Calvin Watkins joined in September 2009. He's covered the Cowboys since 2006 and also has covered colleges, boxing and high school sports.
