"I'm loving it," Claiborne said Jenkins' return. "I'm happy to see him back and I'm glad to see him back out on the field and most of all I'm glad to see that he's healthy. Just for him to add on to this defense with us, I think we'll be tough to deal with."
In his NFL debut, Claiborne didn't record an interception or pass breakup but got a quick lesson on how fast the game is by covering the New York Giants' Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. Claiborne was beat on a few pass plays, but nothing major.
"I try to learn from that game and all the mistakes that I made," Claiborne said. "I went back and looked at them and try to build from that game. I just try to make myself a better player and a better unit."
Claiborne takes on another rookie Sunday, Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson. Claiborne said Wilson is athletic with a strong arm. The mobility of Wilson makes him dangerous when the pocket falls apart because he can run up field and throw on the run if necessary.
In a conference call with reporters, Wilson said he's not going to try and target passes at Claiborne.
"You want to go to the right guy at the right time. That's the most important thing," Wilson said. "Claiborne is a great player and everything. I've met him a few times, a great person too. I've gotten to know him at the combine and we actually share the same agent, Bus Cook. I know him relatively well. A good player and he's done a good job so far."
