Garrett doesn't anticipate any changes to kick returners
IRVING, Texas -- Rookie cornerback Morris Claiborne has gotten reps in practice as a kick returner this week, but coach Jason Garrett said he doesn't anticipate any changes to the unit.
Felix Jones, Phillip Tanner and Dwayne Harris are the kick returners against Seattle.
With cornerback Mike Jenkins returning to the game-day roster at Seattle on Sunday, there was a thought that the Cowboys might give Claiborne some time on special teams.
"He's caught some returns for us over the course of training camp and in practice," Garrett said Friday morning. "We anticipate the guys that we've had -- the guys who have been working there -- to be our returners."
In the season opener, Jones returned three kicks for an average of 20.3 yards per return with a long of 25 yards.
The Cowboys have said they want to get their playmakers on the field more often in different situations and, while Jones is considered one of those players, you can't ignore the potential of Claiborne.
