IRVING, Texas – Coming up with the Cowboys’ 46-man roster for Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay is not too difficult.
Defensive end Kenyon Coleman (knee), safety Gerald Sensabaugh (calf) and linebacker Alex Albright (neck) did not practice for the third straight day and are extremely unlikely to play. Nose tackle Jay Ratliff (ankle) and safety Matt Johnson (hamstring) will miss their third straight game. Center Phil Costa (back) is also out.
So who will be the final inactive player?
Last week the Cowboys dressed only four wide receivers. If they want to add a wide receiver to the mix, then the final inactive spot will come down between Andre Holmes and Cole Beasley. Holmes would get the edge because of his special teams’ ability with the absences of Sensabaugh and Albright.
The Cowboys should continue to go with eight offensive lineman on the gameday roster for as long as Costa is out, so that puts Derrick Dockery in the mix.
Before the opener the Cowboys pondered whether to call up Lance Dunbar to the active roster and didn’t. They could look at the practice squad again this week for a roster move that must be made before 3 p.m. Saturday.
