IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys received some good news when outside linebacker Anthony Spencer (pectoral muscle) and center Ryan Cook (hamstring) returned to practice Thursday at Valley Ranch.

The bad news is punters Chris Jones (knee) and Brian Moorman (groin) missed practice for the second consecutive day.

Coach Jason Garrett said he's not sure who will punt for Sunday's game at Baltimore, but Jones might be closer than Moorman. Jones has punted some but his long-term status isn't determined.

With Cook returning, it's uncertain if he'll resume his starting role at center. Phil Costa started the season at center but re-injured his back in the first quarter of the season opener at the New York Giants, forcing Cook into the game.

When Spencer missed the Week 4 game against the Chicago Bears, Victor Butler took over.

One note about the open media portion of practice, running back Lance Dunbar was fielding kickoffs with Felix Jones as the deep returners.

Garrett said he wants to get Dunbar on the field on special teams but wasn't specific about what his role will be.
