IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys are making some changes to their struggling kick return unit.

The immediate changes have John Phillips replacing Dwayne Harris at one of the off blocker positions (flanking the deep returner) and Tyrone Crawford moving to middle blocker (in front of the deep return line) alongside Lawrence Vickers.

The team will stick with Phillip Tanner as the second off blocker. Adding Phillips gives the unit a little more bulk to help with the blocking.

Another potential move would be at deep returner, where rookie Lance Dunbar is getting some snaps with incumbent Felix Jones.

"I'm just learning my assignments and making sure that I'm in the right spots at all times," said Dunbar, who has also gotten work as an off-returner. "You can't afford to mess up on anything. I'm pretty comfortable, I've been catching them here and there. I haven't dropped one yet. Hopefully I won't wait until the game to drop one."

Jones' speed has been criticized this season, but the blocking up front also has to improve.
