IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys will wait to activate guard/center Kevin Kowalski from the physically unable to perform list.
He was eligible to removed from PUP on Monday, but the Cowboys want to give him more time to recover from surgery he had in training camp to help an ankle tendinitis problem. Kowalski was only able to begin running two weeks ago and acknowledged he will have to regain some bulk lost as he recovered.
The Cowboys have three weeks to activate Kowalski from PUP and then another three weeks to put him on the active roster, keep him out for the season or release him. The latest he could make his on-field debut would be Dec. 2 against Philadelphia.
