IRVING, Texas -- Phil Costa was listed as limited during Wednesday’s practice, but coach Jason Garrett said the Cowboys starting center did not practice at all.

Neither did backup Ryan Cook, which gave David Arkin most of the work at center.

Costa came out of last week’s game at Baltimore with a sore knee but he is expected to be able to play Sunday at Carolina. Cook did not play because of a hamstring injury he suffered vs. Chicago on Oct. 1. Arkin has been active the last five games but has not played an offensive snap.

“We’ll just see their health as the week progresses,” Garrett said of Costa and Cook. “Hopefully each of those guys can do some things today and point forward to getting themselves ready to play Sunday.”

Costa missed three games with a back injury that slowed him from the middle of training camp through the first three preseason games. He aggravated the injury on the first series of the season opener at the New York Giants and was replaced by Cook.
