CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee suffered a right big toe injury on the Panthers’ second series of the third quarter and is questionable to return.

Lee, the Cowboys' leading tackler, was replaced by Dan Connor, who made a key third-down stop on quarterback Cam Newton on the drive.

Lee had his foot re-taped while the Cowboys offense produced a 49-yard field goal by Dan Bailey, but as Lee attempted to do some running on the sideline he was not effective and had his foot taped again. He is sitting dejectedly on the bench without his shoe on his right foot.

The Cowboys lost Phil Costa earlier in the game to an ankle injury.
