Quick turnaround for Miles Austin
For a brief time Sunday he was dogged by a fumble that ended what looked like a sure scoring drive for the Cowboys in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, however, Austin was able to flip the script.
On third-and-9 from the Dallas 38, Austin had a 36-yard catch-and-run that looked a lot like his catch-and-fumble in the first half. On the next play, he had a 26-yard touchdown grab, tapping his toes just inside the corner of the end zone on a pass from Tony Romo.
“I just think it was Tony putting the ball in the right spot and the guys blocked it up right, and we were able to get it,” Austin said.
Austin finished with five catches for 97 yards on nine targets. He matched his season high in catches and the yardage was his second-best total of the season.
“Really, to be honest, a win is all that matters to me, personally,” Austin said. “So as long as we won, I’m OK with whatever.”
