| Will the loss of Sean Lee end the Cowboys' season? ESPN NFL analyst Darren Woodson weighs in on the Cowboys' matchup against the G-Men. Listen |
Here are three other statistical areas to watch Sunday:
* Eli Manning did not have much success passing versus five or more pass rushers against the Cowboys in Week 1. Manning was just 3 for 7 on such pass attempts and did not throw a touchdown. Since the start of the 2008 season, however, no quarterback in the NFL has faced five or more pass rushers on as many dropbacks as Manning, who's seen such pressure on 963 of them. Manning’s success against added pass pressure, aside from Week 1, has been elite overall. Manning has the second-most touchdown passes (59) plus the most completions (493), first downs (346) and 30-yard pass plays (41).
* Six of Tony Romo’s nine touchdowns against the Giants the last two seasons have come on throws made outside of the pocket, including two of his three in Week 1 against the Giants. Since the start of last season, no other quarterback has more than four total touchdown passes against the Giants. Romo went 2-for-2 with a touchdown on throws more than 20 yards downfield in Week 1 against the Giants. Since then, however, Romo has gone 3-for-17 (17.7 percent) with a touchdown and an interception on such throws. Last season, Romo had the second-best completion percentage more than 20 yards downfield (53.2 percent), including 4-for-7 with two touchdowns against the Giants.
* Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray has been ruled out for the second straight week with a foot injury. Here's what the Cowboys are missing: Murray rushed for 131 yards, his season-high total, against the Giants in Week 1. Murray gained 66 yards after contact, which is the most the Giants have allowed to any player this season. Murray also gained 50 of his 66 yards after contact after being hit in the backfield.
