Jason Garrett: Tremendous sense of urgency
The Cowboys (3-4) visit the unbeaten Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night having lost two of their last three games.
"There's a tremendous amount of urgency right now in what we're doing," Garrett said. "Each week's game is critical. It's a big game for us."
Garrett said the main reasons for the team’s struggles is turnovers. The Cowboys have turned the ball over 14 times in their four losses, including six against the Giants. Overall, the Cowboys are next to last in the league in turnover-ratio at minus-11. Only Kansas City (minus-18) has committed more turnovers.
"I think it’s probably been the biggest single factor," Garrett said.
For the Cowboys to salvage their season, victories within the NFC – and especially the NFC East – are critical for any future potential tiebreakers. The Cowboys are 1-1 in the NFC East and 3-3 in the conference, and they have four division and six conference games remaining.
"It's always about now," Garrett said. "If there is one thing I know about my life, it's about now. Getting it done right now and don't worry about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow. Today. This game."
