Dez Bryant doesn't practice again, expects to play
However, Bryant fully expects to play in Sunday’s game against the undefeated Atlanta Falcons. He is dealing with a bruised hip suffered on his acrobatic catch in the end zone in the final minute of Sunday’s loss, a potential game-winning touchdown overturned after instant replay showed his fingertips came down out of bounds.
“My hip’s bothering me a little bit, but I don’t think it’s going to stop me from playing Sunday,” Bryant said. “I’m ready.”
The Cowboys’ top two reserve receivers are also injured. Kevin Ogletree has not practiced this week due to a strained hamstring. Dwayne Harris apparently suffered a neck injury during Thursday’s practice. He was listed as a limited participant after not being on the previous day’s injury report.
Inside linebacker Dan Connor (neck), running back DeMarco Murray (foot), center Phil Costa (ankle), safety Matt Johnson (hamstring) and defensive lineman Sean Lissemore (ankle) also did not participate in Thursday’s practice. Connor’s status for Sunday is uncertain, while the others are all expected to be out against the Falcons.
Defensive end Jason Hatcher was a full participant Thursday after missing Wednesday’s practice with a shin injury.
Running back Felix Jones (knee) was a limited participant for the second consecutive day. Jones is also nursing a shoulder injury.
