IRVING, Texas – With injuries clouding their inside linebacker position, the Cowboys will add veteran Gary Guyton to the roster.
Guyton worked out for the Cowboys on Tuesday with Dan Connor uncertain to play Sunday at Philadelphia because of a stinger and Orie Lemon out with a hamstring injury. The only other backup inside backer behind Bruce Carter and Ernie Sims is Alex Albright, who is an outside linebacker by trade.
Guyton played for New England from 2008-11, starting 32 games with 4.5 sacks and three interceptions. He went to training camp with Miami.
The Cowboys will have to make a move to fit Guyton in the 53-man roster by Wednesday’s practice.
