IRVING, Texas -- Kevin Kowalski says he's ready if the Cowboys need a center.
Kowalski is in his second week of practice after missing the entire offseason and training camp and spending the first nine weeks of the season on the physically unable to perform list due to severe tendinitis in his ankle. The Cowboys do not have to make a decision on whether to add Kowalski to the 53-man roster until the end of next week.
"At this point, I'm just moving forward," Kowalski said."It feels good to be able to go out there every day and improve and not worry about my health."
The Cowboys could have a need at center this week. Phil Costa is a few weeks away from being ready to return from a dislocated ankle. Replacement starter Ryan Cook missed Wednesday's practice due to a sore knee, although he said he expects to be able to play Sunday against the Browns.
