IRVING, Texas – Like the Cowboys, Bill Leavy had to work overtime on Sunday with his crew calling the Tampa Bay-Carolina game, leading into Thursday’s game against Washington.

Since Jason Garrett took over as head coach, the Cowboys are 1-1 with Leavy as the referee. They beat the New York Giants in Garrett’s first game in 2010 and lost in Week 16 last year to Philadelphia. They were flagged five times for 60 yards against the Giants and six times for 47 yards against the Eagles.

Leavy’s crew threw 18 flags with 17 accepted penalties on Sunday. The visiting Buccaneers had six penalties for 50 yards, and the Panthers had 11 penalties for 91 yards.
