IRVING, Texas – Cowboys safety Danny McCray was able to take part in Wednesday’s light workout after sitting on Tuesday because of a strained hip flexor suffered in the first quarter against Cleveland and anticipates playing against Washington.
“I’m feeling like 24 hours from now I’ll be ready,” McCray said. “Quick turnaround, so a lot of guess-timations. But I think I’ll be ready to go.”
McCray has started five of the last six games at strong safety and is fifth on the defense in tackles with 55. He also leads the Cowboys with eight special teams tackles.
He is unsure if he will be able to take his normal reps on defense and special teams.
“It’s depending on how I feel when I warmup,” McCray said. “When I get out there I don’t want to cut my reps and sit on the bench and then let it get tight. Once I get rolling I want to stay rolling, so I’ll probably try to do as much as I can.”
