Slow starts bother Jason Garrett

IRVING, Texas -- When the Cowboys look back on their season, whenever that is, slow starts will be a point of contention. The Cowboys have been outscored 47-30 in the first quarter and 87-43 in the second quarter this season.

Dallas has scored just two touchdowns on its first offensive possessions this season and just 20 points overall, tied for 15th in the NFL.

"We haven't started fast enough in all three phases," coach Jason Garrett said. "Typically on offense, our issue has been there have been some third downs we haven't been able to convert early on and they've had some success against us moving the ball and scoring some points. As much of a turnover thing as it was earlier on in the year, just not getting the conversions when we need them. That's what we need to do. We need to execute those ballplays to keep drives going and give ourselves a chance to score some points."

In the last two games, the Cowboys have been outscored, 41-3, in the first half.
