IRVING, Texas – Tony Romo is 3-3 as a starting quarterback at Washington’s FedEx Field but only two if the games have been decided by more than six points.
The first came in 2007 when Wade Phillips took out his starters in the last game of the season with homefield advantage clinched and the game getting away from them in a 27-6 loss and the second was a 17-0 win by the Cowboys in 2009.
In those six starts, Romo has completed 119 of 201 passes for 1,328 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions. He has been sacked six times in those games, including four last year.
“I know how good that team is defensively,” Romo said after Sunday’s overtime loss to New Orleans. “They’re better than people give them credit for. They’ve given us lot of trouble every time we’ve played them for a long time and I remember the last time. It’s going to be tough, but we’re definitely going to get back to work and we’re going to be ready.”
