Cowboys to work out DE Selvie, DT Cohen

July, 24, 2013
OXNARD, Calif. -- The Cowboys will work out defensive end George Selvie on Wednesday, according to a source.

The Cowboys need some healthy bodies for the defensive line with four players out because of injuries.

Selvie, a 2010 seventh-round pick by St. Louis, has played for three NFL teams. He played for Jacksonville last season and in nine games had 15 total tackles and one sack.

The Cowboys are not seeking highly-priced veteran players for the line, instead focusing more on younger, lower-priced options.

Update: The Cowboys are also working out defensive tackle Landon Cohen, who didn't play football last year. Cohen, a seventh-round pick from Detroit in 2008, played for defensive line coach Rod Marinelli when he was with the Lions. Cohen has played in 25 NFL games with Detroit, Jacksonville and two stints in New England.
Calvin Watkins joined in September 2009. He's covered the Cowboys since 2006 and also has covered colleges, boxing and high school sports.
