Spencer, Crawford have successful surgeries

OXNARD, Calif. -- Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Anthony Spencer (knee) and Tyrone Crawford (Achilles) each had successful surgeries Thursday in Dallas.

Garrett said Spencer will miss 2-4 weeks and will return to California. Crawford, who will remain in Dallas, is out for the season.

Caleb McSurdy suffered a torn Achilles last year in training camp, and Barry Church tore his in Week 3 of the 2012 season. Both players are currently participating in training camp.
