IRVING, Texas – The wheeling and dealing continues for the Dallas Cowboys, making their fourth trade in as many days by acquiring defensive end Caesar Rayford from the Indianapolis Colts for a conditional draft pick in 2015.
Rayford had 11 tackles, five sacks and two forced fumbles in the preseason for the Colts. With Anthony Spencer’s availability in question for Sunday’s season opener against the New York Giants because of July 25 knee surgery, the Cowboys wanted to bulk up their defensive line.
On Saturday the Cowboys gave up a 2014 sixth-round pick to Kansas City for defensive end Edgar Jones and a 2014 seventh-round pick. On Sunday they dealt defensive end Sean Lissemore to San Diego for a seventh-round selection in 2014. On Monday tight end Dante Rosario was traded to Chicago for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2014.
