IRVING, Texas -- In Dan Graziano’s weekly MVP Watch, he has some of the names you would expect, like Denver’s Peyton Manning, New England’s Tom Brady and New Orleans’ Drew Brees, and some up-and-coming players like Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson.

He also has some interesting names, like Detroit’s Reggie Bush and Cincinnati’s A.J. Green and … Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

Romo is 10th on the list of 10 players after Week 1, which will be sure to stir the masses, but I like the fact that Romo is on the list.

The Cowboys do not win without Romo. He creates so much of the good on his own a lot of times. And, yes, a lot of the bad, too. But if the Cowboys didn’t have Romo as their quarterback, I’d say they would be lucky to even sniff 8-8 the past two years.

If Romo can stay relatively error-free and keep the Cowboys near the top of the NFC, then he should be in this MVP Watch for a long time.
