IRVING, Texas – Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told ESPNDallas.com on Friday night that guard Brian Waters will get some snaps in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Waters, who signed last week after missing the 2012 season, most likely will share snaps at right guard with Mackenzy Bernadeau.

Waters won’t start but will be part of a rotation. The Cowboys had a similar rotation at right tackle in the last month of the 2012 season, between Doug Free and Jermey Parnell.

During a Friday-morning interview on KRLD-FM, Jones said Waters has been impressive in the weight room since arriving at Valley Ranch.

“Obviously a very strong individual,” Jones said. “He’s one of those guys that is timeless and he steps right out there and has done some amazing things for a guy who hasn’t been on the field last year. And he didn’t have an offseason and training camp, and it’s pretty amazing he’s going to step in and, I think, really contribute in this game. I don’t think he will play the whole game, but he will start to get a few snaps.”

Waters isn't the only Cowboy set to make his debut in Week 2.

Defensive end Anthony Spencer, who has practiced just three times since the start of training camp because of knee surgery, is expected to play. Spencer won't start, but will get some limited snaps in place of starter George Selvie.
Calvin Watkins joined ESPNDallas.com in September 2009. He's covered the Cowboys since 2006 and also has covered colleges, boxing and high school sports.
